Being home makes me feel depressed...

So I decided to not go back to college and to enlist in the Coast Guard. Well the whole process is taking a while and I won't be going to basic for a few months which leaves me just kinda at home doing nothing. Besides working out and having my part time job I don't really do anything and I've been feeling extremely lonely. All my friends that live around here are back at their colleges and all my friends are back at college hanging out and I feel really left out, especially since their hanging out and I'm at the house by myself on a Friday night. It's really starting to make me feel depressed again and it feels like how it was before I went to college and didn't have many friends. I'm not really sure what to do....I just wish basic would hurry up and come.

You just need a good hobby. Explore your interests, go deeper with the things that intrigue or motivate you. Usually when people start feeling depressed it is because they think they are missing out on something great that other people are doing but the truth is, those people probably arent doing that much either. What is actually causing you depression is that you are denying your own personal enjoyments. In other words you need to refocus on the things that inspire you. Maybe it is, mechanical, athletic, artistic, creative, or something else entirely but you need to get back into doing those things. Do not rely on other people for entertainment or else you will be very disappointed.

@Daniel1120 thus the major problem with life: our poor economy. such an awful system of repression.
