Is it normal I don't like boys my age?

I don't get out much but at school they are only about getting in girls pants so I don't let them get in mine. And Yes, I know this because of stories from other girls in school.
I have a few male friends my age, but the rest don't even talk to me like a person but like an object. At least guys outside of high school try to get to know me. I am just scared to "give it away" to someone who doesn't love or even respect me.
