@xSharp It absolutely DOES work. On anyone. Bear spray is a whole different animal than little pepper spray canisters. It's a weapon.

@Ynotisay my buddy was sprayed until he was orange at a house party, he was not screaming and he was still trying to fight everybody, but at that point everyone was out of the house. lol

and he was only drunk, albeit very drunk

and yes it carries the same charge as a shotgun if caught with it in city

@xSharp Not calling bullshit but I've seen bear spray in action. If it'll stop a bear it'll stop a person. I've also had one accidentally discharge on me. Just the tiniest bit ended up burning for hours.

@Ynotisay i read that it only deters curious or territorial bears, but if its life depends on eating you, chances are it wont save you for long

when a deadly animal charges, its best to put your faith in bullets.

@xSharp No man. I know way too much about that stuff. There's never been one case of a human fatality when bear spray is used. A fair number of dead people, and dead bears that shouldn't be dead, when guns are used.
And just to toss this out there, bears very, VERY rarely eat people. Almost never with black bears.

@Ynotisay that is true, and i have never seen a case where someone has been killed despite using bear spray, and your right bears always would rather scavenge and steal rather than waste calories chasing something.

maybe im just used to northern manitoba being under constant siege by hungry polar bears lol its the rule to leave your door open and grap a shot gun when a stranger runs inside your house, but the shotgun is not for the stranger lol

@xSharp Polar bears are a different breed. :) They absolutely will go after a person if they're hungry or threatened. Black bears are like big dogs. Brown bears need a whole lot of respect. They'll definitely attack too.
I've always wanted to see a polar bear. Has to be a thrill. They're freaking HUGE.

@xSharp Yep. I've read about how they're cross-breeding in the wild. Pizzlies. Habitat changes with the climate might result in a whole new breed. Might be the only chance for survival well down the road if we keep losing ice. Nature always adapts.

@Ynotisay since they survived the mass extinction caused by man simply existing than i dont think a little global warming will wipe them out either lol

@xSharp I don't know about that. Their populations are dropping like a stone in a lot of areas. When sea ice and seals aren't around...
But animals have a way of adapting. I imagine they would get smaller and lighter and lose some of the properties that keep them warm in frigid temps.
