stereotypes are often intensely annoying and I think are almost inevitable, as a shorthand or mental laziness that most of us have .. well, lots of.
Racism I think is unlimitedly bad, but, having been brought up in a somewhat* racist society, I'm forever fighting against the tendency to lapse into it.

@SpencerMurgatroyd because my experiences living in the US is that it is intensely, if covertly*, racist still, compared to the somewhat racist society I grew up in.

@SpencerMurgatroyd Slavery. Right from the start, slavery was a big chunk of the economic development of the place.
