Can you believe your views are right if you have had a new understanding too them?

Sure. I can believe that perhaps my previous beliefs were off in some way, but with new information comes new insight. I can then be open to the possibility/probability that as time goes by, there may be more information which will change my beliefs still further, but with the information available to me in the here and now, I believe I'm on the right track.
