Do ultimatums ever work?

@SW-User Is a statement which is an accurate prediction of the consequences of a given course of action, if true, considered an ultimatum? Or is it more of a warning?

@RandomUniverse I see that more as a warning or a heads up. Ultimatums go by the way of IF, THEN.
So, if you do not do this, then I will not do that.

I find warnings helpful in staying between the lines. Even if in the form of a heartfelt ultimatum. And unwritten rule made evident.

@RandomUniverse I see them as guidelines to helping understand someone. I find ultimatums in bad taste and unnecessary in relationships.
