Have you ever wanted to be physically close to someone, but not want to be with them?

As in, cuddling, hugs, holding hands, etc. but not wanting to be in a relationship with them. Maybe it's just hunger for affection after going without it for so long?

Yes.
For the record I don't think those shows of affection have to be romantically charged, they can be purely platonic affection. Sometimes when I really care about someone I just want to be physically near them.

I cuddle, hug, and hold hands with friends so sure, all the time. It's a different feeling when it's romantic even if the core actions are the same.
