How to overgain trust issues?

This has always been a problem for me. It affects a lot of the relationships I have with people. It's late, so I decided I should ask you guys! (if this post is seen lol) for real though, it's a problem. Tell me how you personality overcome/deal with it. It will really help, so all opinions matter, thanks.

If you figure it out, let me know. 馃槀
But seriously, I suffer from a lot of anxiety and I spend most of my time alone.
Honestly, sometimes I just have to take advantage of a good day and force myself to take a risk with some people and see how it pans out. I've come to grips with the fact that the vast majority of relationships (platonic or otherwise) won't work and I'm not willing to wait around being scared of people anymore. I kept myself closed off from other people all throughout middle and high school and I regret it deeply. I've wasted too much time.

@SW-User I'm sorry to hear that. This is somewhat relatable to me. I have quite a bit of friends, but NONE or close to any degree. My only solution that I can think of is to learn more about people in a span of at least a year. This of course can slow down things/ sink potentials :/ but it does keep things safe 馃憤

@ItsHunter All you can really do is follow your gut and try to set yourself up for opportunities where you can get to know people better. It's important to remember that there are a lot of people that are in the same situation as you are, even if they don't show it.

@SW-User how should I set up these opportunities?(notes ready!) lol

@ItsHunter Be open to trying new things and talking to new people. Whether you're just hanging out with your friends and there are people you don't know that you can strike up a conversation with or engaging someone that's trying to make small talk with you in public. Sometimes it takes practice to get comfortable talking to people -- SW is good for getting started, but communicating online is nothing like communicating with people in person.
Say hi or good morning to people passing by, go up to someone that you've seen around but don't know too well and ask how things are going. Just set up simple rapport between you and other people and pay attention to how they're reacting to you and how they make you feel. Normally your gut will tell you whether someone is genuine or not. If you're comfortable with how things are going, ask if they wanna hang out sometime, invite them to meet your friends, whatever.

It sounds like I'm oversimplifying it but that's really all it takes.

@SW-User GREAT advice! Thanks! Even if it is oversimplifying, prehaps the most simple solutions can be the most effective

@ItsHunter No problem. It gets even easier to make new friends when you go on to secondary education like a college or university (if you plan on going) because you'll be introduced to new people alllll the time. ALL THE TIME.

@SW-User I'm a junior this year in high school but will spend half the day at a community college, so I'm a it nervous/excited.
SW-User
@ItsHunter That sounds great!! It'll be fun, I promise. Well... As fun as school can be. 馃槉
ItsHunter22-25, M
@SW-User school can be fun/boring at times. The only thing I hate is waking up early (6am)
SW-User
@ItsHunter ugh, me too. I gotta start getting up at six again soon. Not sure how that's going to happen.
ItsHunter22-25, M
@SW-User lol!! Same scenario here too....4:46am...and I'm cooking eggs...school starts in 3 weeks...oh boy
SW-User
@ItsHunter it's like we're the same person :') except I usually get up in the middle of the night to make grilled cheese.
ItsHunter22-25, M
@SW-User I guess we're not the same person...because...

I am not a big fan of cheese *dramatic music*
SW-User
@ItsHunter say it ain't so ;-;
ItsHunter22-25, M
@SW-User eh it's fine anyway :p
SW-User
@ItsHunter more cheese for me i guess. :D
ItsHunter22-25, M
@SW-User haha well I'm not a big fan of melted cheese...

Cobeyjack (I know I spelt it horribly wrong) and chedder jack are the ones I like, oo and parmesan
SW-User
@ItsHunter i hate parmesan. it smells like feet. 馃槚
ItsHunter22-25, M
@SW-User haha well I'm in for taste, not smell ;). Like burgers for example are really good but at times smell plain out unappetizing.
