My mind is racing like mad lol

Will I work in police or DEA department after all this for next 45 years? What about for, say, 35 years then move into sum factory, driver or clerk work? Will moving from a high paid job to minimum wage have an impact on my retirement?

It's good to have ambition when you're young.
Something to investigate and strive for.

Unfortunately many of us find that our chosen career is beset by problems we never imagined when we signed up.

Budget cuts
Jobs phased-out
Mergers
Contract changes

In some cases where entire industries are superceded by advances in technology.

So choose wisely. Keep an eye on how your chosen field advances and changes.
But don't be surprised if it doesn't go quite how you hope, and be prepared for change.
