is there anything wrong with ringing the samaritans a lot

i often ring the samaritans for someone to talk to, as i live alone and struggle with loneliness....i have no support system now except for my elderly parents who live far....i've lived in this flat 20 years now, i've had a hard adult life and it has been a very rough, lonely road.

when i ring the samaritans i just tell them about my circumstances and just getting my thoughts out....but if you ring too much, they bar you from ringing for over 6 months, which i think is unfair...because if you have a small support system who live far and live alone, who are you supposed to turn to?

No, and I have. Even rung 911 when I shouldn't (not for what you think), but there's a time to come together in yourself, and a time, that says maybe I need more help in being me?

I looked up their group, and they are there to provide emotional support for people who are distressed, who need emotional support, and who are at risk of suicide.

It seems to me that your need for emotional support is chronic. In other words, you have no one in your life other than your mother with whom you can talk.

The Samaritans want to keep their lines open for people who might be actively wishing to kill themselves, and that is not YOU. You are simply lonely.

I have often suggested to you in the past that you join a local church, and, in advance, speak to the priest or pastor about your special needs, to see if they can help you. There are also support groups at local hospitals.
