Have ever been asked to be a Godparent?

For some inexplicable reason my brother asked me to be a Godparent to his son.
1986, I was a drunk, what would I know about parenting?
I said no and explained my reasons.

I’m godmother to three, now. The youngest just turned 20 in December. It’s a great honor and a special connection, even if you’re never called upon to become the person’s guardian.
