Have ever been asked to be a Godparent?

For some inexplicable reason my brother asked me to be a Godparent to his son.
1986, I was a drunk, what would I know about parenting?
I said no and explained my reasons.

Also, I'm literally the youngest of all my siblings and cousins... some of my cousins kids are closer to my age than the cousin...

And my Sister in law has a huge family with tons of people to ask... and my Sister, would probably ask my older brother a lot sooner than me.
