have some dignity
don’t love someone so much that you forget to love yourself. don’t ignore the red flags. the way they pull away when you need them close. they way their words feel warm, but their actions leave you cold. you’ll convince yourself their small gestures are enough. that if you hold on tighter, until they’ll finally see your worth. but they won’t. you’ll give pieces of yourself to some who doesn’t know how to told them. you’ll shrink, you’ll bend, you’ll break. you’ll give and give, until there’s nothing left of you. and when it still isn’t enough, you’ll realize, it never could be. and one day you’ll look in the mirror and wonder where you went. that’s the cost if loving someone who can’t love you back. so don’t let it get that far. love isn’t suppose to hollow you out. if you’re the only one fighting for it, you’re fighting to be alone.
