I'm sad-I hit a deer tonight.

I was driving home from work and passing by a large field, and a young deer 🦌 literally jumped right into my car, almost like it was trying to commit suicide. My car swerved and I did a uturn and tried to go back to see if it was in the road, but I couldn't find it and there was a lot of traffic coming. I hope it was able to make it across the road and that it wasn't hurt too bad. This was the second time I have hit a deer in almost the exact same spot. There are no lights on that road and the deer move very fast across the road.

Aww, happy you are okay... They are not small, even if a doe.... making it sadder. I remember hitting a raccoon once, seeing it flailing on the side of the road, feeling the only humane compassionate choice was to run it over again. Made me tremendously sad, though in my heart I felt it the right choice to save it from suffering.

@SW-User I agree- you did the right thing. I wish I had known what happened to the deer- I drove back quite a ways, but it was pitch dark and no lights at all in the road. Couldn't find the deer anywhere.
