I would love to go back to the fifties

I am drawn to almost everything from that time period. Music and films, home styles and furniture and fashion that still looks amazing and iconic 70 years later. Peplum tops with pencil skirts and dresses with crinoline skirts, make any girl feel pretty and feminine. Retro hair styles and cat eye sunglasses. Even the underwear was sexy for pin-up burlesque look. I'd happily live in the fifties and thrive I think. It's a time when men were men and women were women.

But it's also a time when men were extremely sexist towards women. I can't imagine that being a very enjoyable time for any female.

@Redstar not all men and also I think women are being conditioned to get offended by any sign that a man might find her attractive and call that sexist.

@Redstar A lot of women actually liked knowing their place in the home.

@Northerner You mean they had no choice and just had to shut up and do what the man says, regardless of what they want. Unlike now. If someone does actually want to do it, that's fine, but there wasn't a choice before and you're acting like that was okay.

@Patientlywaiting Certainly most men back then.

Some people will overreact to things more than they used to but I haven't seen, heard or experienced anyone getting offended because someone finds them attractive.

@Redstar language. Ive known women to get really upset because a man has called them darling or sweetheart or complimented them on how they look..
