I would love to go back to the fifties

I am drawn to almost everything from that time period. Music and films, home styles and furniture and fashion that still looks amazing and iconic 70 years later. Peplum tops with pencil skirts and dresses with crinoline skirts, make any girl feel pretty and feminine. Retro hair styles and cat eye sunglasses. Even the underwear was sexy for pin-up burlesque look. I'd happily live in the fifties and thrive I think. It's a time when men were men and women were women.

I tend to romanticize the innocence of the 30s more; pre-WW II.
Abbott and Costello, old time radio theater, fedoras and dresses. A time before we really knew what was brewing across the pond. But the 50s have a lot of that too; a "Golden Age" of Hollywood before the cynicism of the 60s set in.

@MountainMonk89 The 50's I think would have been amazing. Everyone was so happy to be done with WWII. No more rationing and worrying. The kids had been pent up and life was fun again for most of America.

@TexChik My parents were totally the "Back to the Future" people of 1955. "Enchantment Under the Sea" dance. Except I'm pretty sure my father laid Biff out at the start of the movie. 😉
