What it sounds like to me is that you feel there is an important issue that someone important in your life is underreacting to. It might literally be your husband, or it might not. But you definitely feel as though someone in authority, represented by the president of the United States, has done something to cross your boundaries. And you are underwhelmed by the reaction of someone close to you.
