A week ago, my closest friend told me he is moving to another country because life would be better there. I remember feeling hurt the moment he told me that, but he looked so excited about the news I couldn't let him know I didn't want him to leave....

Please be happy for him. This may motivate you to change your life too. Just realize that once prople leave, they generally do not keep in contact. Life in new surroundings is crazy busy.

@PoetryNEmotion I know, I try to be happy for him, I really do. We talked about not losing contact but I am trying to open my mind to the idea of losing contact once he leaves. Which I won't blame him for.

Better to let him know.
Most of us prefer to know we are loved.
Not telling him is not a kindness.

At the same time, it's a loving thing to respect his freedom to make his own choices.
Would you consider moving with him?

@hartfire No, I don't think I would wanna move with him. Tho I think a part of him wants me to, he asked if i would, but I am can't just leave everything I know behinde to leave with a friend I have known for a year.

You know that you have to apply to move to another country and it’s not always guaranteed to happen.
