I just had a tiny revelation 🤔

And it's not so much that I didn''t know it ....but more like I never had a way to express it.

To me socializing and all it entails, should be ... fun, engaging ... connecting and sharing,...and helping .

But it's not .

It's a game.

I now understand that , and I try my best to play it properly.

The thing is:
I understand you have to get the ball in the hoop.
I understand that there are rules of conduct to the field players, and to who has the ball .
And don't step over the boundary line .

And I follow those rules.

What I don't realize is the strategy and sneaky modes of play, hidden fouls so to speak .

It's like I play for fun....but others are playing to win .

And that's the part I don't get .

Like ....what do you get when you win?
And what if you have to play dirty to get it - is it still a win ?

Surely the win is the fun you get when you play ?
When everyone is not strategizing but just playing freely ....by equal rules ?

I mean, what is a trophy when others might secretly resent you for it? Coz you hurt and benched other players to get it 🤷
Or is it the fact that their strategies that got the win ....are the actual win ?🤔

Anyone else relate to this ?

If you think basketball is not played fairly don't ever try water polo!

@KiwiBird Exactly!

@OogieBoogie And that's even if it WAS played fairly.
@Really as much as I can remember, drivers were the worst: they were usually the ones who would rake you or pull you under.
You could usually spot them - they were were bigger: not so fast - but strong.
They didn't play the ball as much as they played players.

I can relate 100%
When I set the right attitude, I can talk to people just fine. But inside, I'm wanting to go be by myself. I’m still learning the rules. 😩

@OogieBoogie
It actually helped me release the tension tho.

True!!
@mindstruggle it truly does .

I have an old story and a prolly longer explanation ...but in short - it produces very similar endorphins to what laughter does.

It's good for you like laughter is .

There are times I cry for a bit - and I'm not entirely sure what thing it is I'm crying about - sometimes it just a whole lotta little things that build up and finally spill over . 🤷

@OogieBoogie
Yeah, now that you mentioned it. Sometimes I really do feel good after crying. Even just for a bit.
Cry then move on.
I have something tiny, too.
I don't want to talk about it. 😔

Yes, there are definitely a lot of rules, and most of them are unwritten for extra "fun", or complication.
@NerdyPotato you know .....I agree.
most are unwritten.

If it is not fun I walk away.....
