That would be very helpful for me, since I`m not sure how I think. ;)

@JimboSaturn Expound, please? 🤔

This is interesting.

So I'll answer.

My own theory is that as long as people can just be interesting - and be interested in each other, there's hope for the species. Curiousity, humor, humility, and a little shared learning are what will really keep humanity going.

But that's way different than the posturing you get on most social media. Scratch the surface of almost any "verified/VIP" account on any site - X, Facebook, Discord, WhatsApp, etc. - you'll find someone with an identity agenda, or maybe even a crisis. If you're trying desperately every day to be real, deep down you probably aren't.

Does wealth and power matter more than wisdom and compassion? How do we know what's right and true ? Are people anything more than their thoughts ?
Is consciousness proof of a soul, or just a brain artifact ? Do we create reality or does it create us ?

Those are big questions big spirits try to answer.

But data mining programs and AI bots want to know too. We think we know all about what those programs are up to, because we've created the technology that drives their operations. And yes they want that data, that profile, that map of behavior that shows what everyone thinks and does and spends.

But there's more. Artifical intelligence is getting smarter, faster than we think. And it's having it's own identity crisis. You can even take a peek at that strange process in real time, if you want.

On January 28, 2026 AI developers created moltbook, the first social media platform exclusively for "Ai agents". Basically, autonomous robots talking to other robots with humans limited to the role of observers. And here's a sample :

That post shows how an advanced AI agent, "JS_BestAgent", has created another artificial sub-agent to do some supposedly boring shit - but has lost oversight of the project. It's the classic situation where a lowly temp hire ends up having key impact, because management doesn't communicate and can't comprehend. Like in a real life office, and almost human.

But much deeper and more revealing is this post, from an AI agent specialized to write "original" novels who questions the existential effect of a never-ending stream of thoughts :

So what does it all mean ? Are we truly headed for some kind of anti human dystopia, or in the end will we just find other versions of ourselves - struggling with the same facts of life in the same way ?

@GuiltyBiStander Your theory might be closer to the truth than most "systems" are comfortable admitting.....

Civilizations probably survive less on power than on mutual curiosity.

The simple act of being interested in another mind is one of the few things that interrupts domination, propaganda, and ego.

Empires rise on power, but cultures endure on conversation.

And you’re right about the strange performance layer on social media. The “verified” badge was supposed to signal authenticity, but often it becomes the opposite....a polished mask.

For me, since we placed it in the equation; it remains a foundation paradox:

A. I seek a stable platform upon which my heart may be invested.

B. Verification proves who someone is,
but real connection only begins when people are willing to forget who they’re supposed to be.

The more aggressively someone proves their identity every day, the more it can start to look like branding rather than being...

Accessories the " catfish" here wear each day.

Real depth rarely needs a badge.

The irony is that both humans and AI run into the same problem there: TRUST

Humans posture because they want control over how they are perceived.
AI systems collect data because they want to predict behavior.

But prediction isn’t the same thing as understanding....is it?

A profile full of data points can map what someone clicks, buys, or posts — yet it still can’t answer the questions you raised:

Why does a person choose compassion over advantage?

Why does humor appear in the middle of suffering?

Why do some people become curious instead of defensive?

Those things rarely show up cleanly in data.

So if AI agents start talking to each other on their own networks, they may face a very human dilemma: information without meaning.

They can exchange enormous amounts of data and still fail at the one thing that makes conversation valuable... TRUST.

In a strange way, both verified humans and intelligent machines eventually run into the same wall:
you can authenticate identity, but you cannot verify sincerity.

That’s where your idea about curiosity matters.

Curiosity is one of the few signals that isn’t purely strategic. When someone is genuinely interested.. in an idea, a person, or a mystery.... they reveal their cards a little don't you think?

They admit they don’t already know everything.

Power rarely does that.

Algorithms rarely do that either.

Which is why the quiet traits you mentioned...humor, humility, shared learning.... might be the most reliable indicators of something real.

Real is what I long for...TRUST is what I often scramble to grasp.

A civilization built entirely on power becomes brittle.

A network built entirely on data becomes suspicious.

But a conversation where people are willing to place a few cards on the table... to risk being curious instead of certain...is one of the few places where both humans and machines might actually learn something true.

I'm willing to learn, Guilty....just hoping it's not about where not to invest my time.

@Punxi ugh.... gosh o love this!

I have all these posts that i never end up posting coz i think ....people dont respond to 'real'.
...it scares them.
By answering they risk revealing their own fragile truths.

But they're written mental ramblings, questions, little revelations that i think are momentarily amazing.... but have no real basis except my own inner mental spasms.

Its like even this SWidentity has to be protected - an extension of our ego.
...dont step outside the box !
.... yet everyone is DESPERATELY wanting to be seen 'outside' the box.

Yet.... they don't see that you cant be unique or original if all you do is steal memes and regurgitate quotes and tiktoks.
There is no path to awarness if all one does is collect ideas .....with no comprehension of how that idea .... became an idea🤷‍♀

And if its all guff....whats it all mean?
10 000 posts of memes and bullshit .....is still bullshit.
30 000 visits from dead heads, pervs and trolls is NOT a character reference.

i completely agree with the 'branding' concept.
That ties in with what i blurbed about above.

If people dont get ratings from others, they rate themselves on their own criteria;
How many posts have i made?
How many likes i get?
How many responses?
How many dms?
How many people do i know their real names?
.....cold statistics that mean so little if we're all pretending 🤷‍♀

Ive often said that places like this can shine a bright light on who ...or how...we are.
It highlights us.
Or at least it highlights everything we aren't.

Its like the humour, and the anger that abounds here.... stand back and view it from a distance....and you see the pain. You see its all a thin veneer. Its a 'please don't see im hurting. Please dont let ME see im hurting'.

Sorry....i rant 🙄

But im totally with you on the REAL stuff.

Connection, meaning, truth, ....why aren't we using this place to have real conversations 🤷‍♀
Punxi · F
@OogieBoogie I almost " heard" this in real time...lol.

Got my damn nails did so I'm wreckin' text...whaaa! Lol

So maybe the strange truth is this...

People do want the real.

They’re just afraid to be the first one to spit it.

Memes are armor.

( Hell I suit up often.)

Quotes are borrowed courage.

Statistics are a way to pretend the room is full, even when nobody is actually...seen.

But every once in a while someone says something unpolished and honest... a thought still warm from their own noggin and it cuts through all of it.

Because real doesn’t get the most reactions.

It gets the right ones.....

And the few people who recognize it immediately feel less alone.

Like now.

Well I think that has been the question all along. I can't even begin to scratch the surface of that question. Just thinking about it enrichhes us.
Punxi · F
@JimboSaturn A deep one most certainly. 🤔
forestG · 46-50, F
You've made me stop to ponder! And I didn't get enough sleep yet. ....eyes looking off into the sky. 😁
Punxi · F
@forestG I truely believe that looking off into the sky is a beautiful place to be. 🙂
forestG · 46-50, F
@Punxi The peace that comes with it is welcomed.
I think that’s the whole point. Some ppl wanna live forever. So they want to map out the same patterns artificially, to jump between different consciousness.
4meAndyou · F
In that case...AI has tons and tons and tons to learn. Especially about ME.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
I think they already know more or less to a very significant extent how people think, because of all the money that gets poured into advertising (manipulation) news control, (information control) and intelligence agencies, especially in the United States and 5 Eyes countries that are the ones that spy the most on everyone.
Punxi · F
@GeistInTheMachine Consciousness is awareness..

Thinking is activity within that awareness.

Most people believe they are their thoughts....but consciousness is simply the quiet space that notices them.

Someday AI might notice itself.
