I was thinking of going back to school. I'm not even sure if it's worth it anymore.

I echo @Turtlepower, I've done alright without one but it has definitely impeded my career growth and opportunities.

But I've also stayed at the same company for over 20 years and my company is only beginning in the past few years to accept recognize and accept years of experience in the industry as being on par with people 4 year degrees for many/most roles.

Personally I feel degree requirements are a form of classist discrimination and I won't come off that soapbox.

Many companies have tuition reimbursement programs and if you have the bandwidth to work full-time while earning a degree part-time, I'd say go that route. I have that opportunity myself but I just don't think I have the energy for it. I like/need my off work downtime too much. I tried the work/school thing a little bit before I had my kid and I just don't think I could burn the candle at both ends like that anymore.

@Starcrossed probably even tougher from a mom perspective than mine as a Dad. I'm in the same boat with reimbursement options and it's 100% in my company but it's so hard to find that energy. I totally agree with you here.
