I'll tell you that I'm doing great without a 4 year degree but not having one closes a lot of doors and has slowed my promotions down and prevented me from advancing where I should be based on my work experience. If you can do it without going into significant debt then you should (depending what you want to do of course).

@RisingMorningStar7 seeing your other response I'm in the engineering field and not having that degree is probably costing me at least 50k/year at this point.

@RisingMorningStar7 I work in aerospace engineering in process engineering. I do well for myself but I'm only here because of the network I built and it's been a wild path. But I'm one of the most qualified people to take over for my boss but I can't even get an interview because of the degree situation.
