I wonder what life might be like without conceptual thinking

Sometimes thinking itself can mangle reality. And I'm beginning to see that Author Byron Katie 's quote, 'Nothing is true.' seems more and more like reality.
The term Conceptual thinking I happened to see in a book from Eckhart Tolle. He said suffering, anxiety, etc come from partially, reliance on Conceptual thinking. It's a fascinating concept ! To be rid of it for a while, (Conceptual thinking) would mean the stillness within us all, could be made more present. I wouldn't mind a year without thinking whatsoever 💜🤔🌹

That's easy. Think like an small animal. All instinct. Their brains just isn't big enough to conceptualize.

It's the animals with larger brains that can conceptualize and therefore able to use tools.

We are not afraid of fire, because we can conceptualize how it might be useful.

He is wrong about fears, though. Instinct causes fears. Even a small animal is even more afraid than humans. They are afraid of most everything, because they DO NOT have a big enough brain to conceptualize.

You don't think, therefore you have fears.

The stillness, he is referring to, is more dangerous than he is willing to state. The reason why we think is to not have fears.

Doing nothing, as in meditation, is worse than having fears. The more thought you have, the less fear you have.

Why do small animals have instinctual fears to being with? To avoid dangerous situations!

I have a serious problem with these meditationalists. Because they don't DO ANYTHING! They are AFRAID of changing. They are afraid of life itself.

The more you think, the more you MUST change.

Life is change.

@uncalled4 Thanks friend I really appreciate that.

@Coralmist he is only right in the freeing of the mind. Because it causes a change in thinking.

The other thing he states is hidden for a reason!

He refuses to think even his own thoughts through. Incorrect way of thinking.

@Coralmist remember what I said yesterday that you thought was fair?

Perceptions on a equal level is a reasonable way of thinking.

Defense is a correct way of thinking. Massive offense is the majority way of thinking.

I sometimes wish I could set aside the math in my head when I go to bed, so I can go to sleep!

You seem to over complicate your everyday life ,if someone smiles at you etc, why are they smiling at me ,they aren't smiling because they don't fancy you

See liberals.

So what is he saying? Don't think? Don't use what you've learned to advance yourself? Sorry, I think he's one of the biggest hacks out there.

@uncalled4 No he's saying when we base everything on perception , it can lead to anger, fears, etc. ..Because going beyond thinking, is to be in Stillness and presence. I wouldn't mind that for a while. Turning off the chatter of the Mind.

@Coralmist I wouldn't know how to avoid relying on perception. That's not to say that instinct is worthless. And yes, it's important to be able to go to a happy place.
