I can't stop thinking about society without sleep

Kinda feel embarrassed that my starting post here was such a personal vent ugh.. anyways the question, what would world be like if people didn't have a physical need for sleep? Ok yeah it sounds like a dumb surface-level question but let's be for real. Humans spend around 40% of their lives sleeping.. I SPEND 40% OF MY LIFE SLEEPING.. and i am not okay with that. im 16 but i've been fully concious for around 8 ans half years actually. Sometimes I just wish days lasted longer, they pass me by so quickly oh lord.. if i had more time i could work on so many more skills!! but it also made me think.. what does this mean for other peoples everyday lives??? as a certified gamer it occured to me if everyone is awake at the same time some multiplayer games would have to run more servers to fit them all.. i also came to conclusion that the average person WOULDNT have more free time as the need for their work/services would increase a lot. So, would a society where people dont sleep be any better? Ah, i guess one upside I see is that you can make friends with people from all parts of the world without worrying about timezones..? I don't know anymore.. my brain isn't working how it's supposed to.

I think having no sleep would be okay if we had other forms of rest than pure unconsciousness. Like a low activity mode where we could still do light activity. I'm not a big fan of sleep myself, but I share the fear that if humans didn't need rest we'd be pressed into near constant labor and that would just be no good.
