do you think it's scary the thought of ending up sick & invalid with no one around to help you

that's one of my worst fears...and it could happen to me quite possibly, as i have health conditions i manage and my only support system now are my elderly mum and dad who live far away, they're not going to be around forever, so i worry what i'll do when they are no longer around, especially my mother who i'm very close to....and i get a chronic illness and there's no one around to help me?

any thoughts?

Yes scary. I always figured I'd be the first to go and that my wife would survive me, but she now has dementia and even if her physical health holds up I am the one who has to survive to take care of her.
