For me, letting feelings steep a bit, sort of like when making tea, is the method I use to sort them out. Acting upon them without first letting them settle in can be disastrous at worst, and disappointing at best.

@Qveenve Feelings are often not well filtered by our minds - it's an emotional thing, and we often go with what feels good at the moment (feels good on an emotional level). That's not always a wise choice. It is though often difficult to stop and think when emotions are flooding over you. Slowing things down, letting the feelings settle, allows a person to use logic, apply their core values and morals, etc. and then act, make a decision, or whatever is appropriate for that situation. Keep your core values, your morals, and your sense of what is for you right and what is not right, always in mind. It isn't easy, doing what is best for yourself is not the easiest thing to do. It is in the long run, the smartest thing to do.
