I want to make my upcoming absence or lack of activity here understood in the absolutely most accurate light
I like participating here, fun people exist here, but my complete concentration must be divided into a dualism, there's always the real life situation,I have a job to do, which is further divided into 2, finances and the cleaning up effort. The other powerful force, must be literature.
I was looking at some videos on one of the greatest Poets of America, and stumbled upon a lecture by Harold Bloom!! There was a guy who knew his books! I always mix him up with William H. Gass, Bloom I think is more on the scholarly side of things, and Gass was more like a William T. Vollmann.
Suffice it so say,it drove home to me the point needed, to not just list off all I know are the best, but experience what made them the best in the first place in my estimation of things.
In these days, I feel that one would be hard pressed to go fortune hunting in the annals of the past for minds and personages one could so to speak learn from. Inspiring works from both fiction and non-fiction, that for me would be all a blend, or a recipe for what I would deem the full import of the printed word, crystallized and filed away, always ready to elaborate, for a one-stop time will be worse than not ever reading such things.
Each work is manna fallen from the heaven, a miracle, served in broken cisterns, or well used but washed white ceramic coffee mugs, where you see the use over time, but it's still good, it's homey stuff.
My List will be broken up into fragments, and all to amount to 3,000 titles, or 3,000 total including re-reads,yeah the latter reflects the need to savor them.
So until I complete my first of many Lists, I shall be like those bears that play peekaboo for the winter. Let's say October 23. That's my deadline hehe
