Getting past social anxiety regardless of the timeline...
It's possible I have had a trace of social anxiety for a little bit longer than I have previously thought and that maybe I have been somewhat reluctant, I guess you could say, in fully accepting that I even have it, alternating between thinking I have it and feeling like I have beat it back. The thing is, even if I do have some form of social anxiety, it's not an issue of how long I have been managing through it, but mostly about not giving up.
Undoubtedly, it's been unsettling. In any case, I don't think that it's that obvious of a trait, if I do have it. It's a struggle for sure, but all I can do is keep overcoming each challenging interaction as they come up and give people a chance to work through their resistance to having to change the way they interact with me. That's not to say there aren't things I can do... for sure there are things that I can and am doing to continue to take steps forward. I'm even thinking of taking the bus again even though the people who ride on that bus seem intent on forcing me into uncomfortable situations.
Anyway, it's a wonder that I keep bravely fighting a condition that is not an easy one to classify, define, and is often confused with other personality quirks. But I'm not giving up, not by a longshot.
