Do you think people confuse being an avoidant and setting personal boundaries?

I do think that is the case sometimes.
Try not to get up tight about it because I can't really make somebody not avoid me.

Yeah I feel like they're easily mixed up. Sometimes it’s about protecting yourself other times it’s fear of conflict

Hmm, not when it's extreme or inconsistent / hot and cold behavior. "Personal boundaries" seems to be a bit of a fad or viral behavior on social media.

Never heard the word 'avoidant' but I presume, in this context, it means one who avoids risking outstaying their welcome by not bothering at all?
No . Clear and concise communication can remedy any confusion about boundaries.

Avoidant types are people who are allergic to these types of conversations
I'm not confused by it but it seems some ppl get it a little mixed up

They’re the same thing. People just use the word boundaries because it sounds better and more socially acceptable.

@Reject Excellent response. I had that thought about it.

Yes, especially people you meet online. /=

Normal adult communication should help clarify that ..

But then .. Avoidants usually don't handle that so well
Younameit · F
No. I think those are completely different things hard to be confused
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
@Younameit That's the way I understand it too
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Yeah it happens

It depends on your own level of free associations as a whole even!!!!
