Something about my room I don't understand.

I've slept on my couch the past few nights because I can't sleep in my room lately. In there I'll wake up with panic attacks, have nightmares or even sleep paralysis episodes. I've yet to experience those things on the couch which is why I've been camping out there lately. Today I'd look down the hall towards my room and just feel incredibly nauseous and anxious like I'm afraid to go in there. Truthfully I only have been going in there during the day to get what I need then I swiftly exit. Eventually I'll have to try to make myself go back to sleeping in there because the couch is giving me back issues but I'm not sure if I'm ready to try again.

Clean out your room.
Re-arramge it.
Put a new energy vibe in there.
The power of the mind can do incredible things.
Look at your patterns before going to bed and differences in environment.
What do you do different in the lounge than what you do in the bedroom?
- it might be your orientation to the door
- it might be stimulus before bed (tv)
- it might be lighter or darker than your bedroom.
- is it the height of the bed, the mattress hardness?

+ burn incense
+ Get a night light (there are really cool ones
+ Get a white sound generator or sleep-buds to listen to ASMR.
+ Change your bedding type
+ Look up 'healthy sleep environments'.
+ Only you can observe and notice the differences and make the necessary changes conducive to your needs.

@NOS4R2 The mattress is admittedly old and crappy which probably makes things tougher than normal. I'll try rearranging things and doing some cleaning as a start to see what happens.

@separatetheheart if a new matress is too much, there are really good padded mattress covers that make a HUGE difference.
Sleep is one of those things that can be hijacked by the most minute things.
I know that what you immerse your mind in before bed is really important - so no horror movies or depressive shit 'k?😏
