Shootin' the breeze with a recluse
Sit down a spell, and whistle along to the tune of a recluse's reading journey. Implicit in this is a choice of created worlds, and some forms of counsel and food for thought types is chosen in preference to other things.Things of which I must let stew unspoken about in the noggin.
I think there is a focus, amongst the predetermined array, and it was rounded out rather hastily. Left out some things that perhaps is better unspoken of and stewed upon.
When I joined SW again this time, my username was chosen for a plain matter of the fact state, this informs the focus generally on reading, and perhaps with the disclosure of further refining sections of focus may to a literate person perusing my stupid idiotic thoughts could see more clearly into my mind than I do!! Oh to have a cup of coffee with them, every Monday at 8 am to Noon at Tim Horton's. (That's a Canadian coffee shop btw, I see it as a cult, drive thrus always have long line ups), but that's neither here nor there, makes me think of how Schiller is treated in Crime and Punishment and was discussed in the Frank bio.
Schiller's The Robbers is amongst the bounty i've acquired in the recent past, using time in the 10 years is a day mode.
Last night we watched 5 Sopranos episodes, dad likes it, but he's not a fan of the deeds of the characters for the most part, and the language. He gets too connected to characters in entertainment, if they're doing something he wouldn't like in real life, he'll vocally protest such behavior, but he's learning to keep those thoughts under wraps, the things said so many times, there's no way to get clean from hearing it that often.
Literature it's an alternative to living fully in an immediate reality which is oppressive and mundane. The turbulent lives and interactions in a Dostoevsky is like a full course meal cooked not just perfectly but with heart, in a location where only ----- I fail right here to come up with anything accurate. But my point should be understood.
And the other things, there's time spent there too, but maybe the thing i'm most open about is the only terrain I want to talk about, in that it's a refined focus in the readings.
This should have been enjoyed in my 30s or 20s, but 1st chaos has always been a dear friend of mine, and 2ndly that was then, and this is now.
A dear friend was big on The Idiot, I must treat each of the major long last novels as book versions of great tv shows, where chapters are episodes, Parts are seasons, and then re-reading them because of a) enjoyment and b) fuller appreciation.
To then branch out to Gogol, Turgenev, and company.
The Sopranos to come back to that is like having therapy with dad, the show's our therapist, I think it's a nifty idea at least, and in about 2 to 3 hours I might be sharing more of my collection, where I mix the fine and the genre.
A genre is my one word choice where the movie is just for fun, and just for fun movie may be considered fine by others, so I wish no quarrel on that account, it's just my opinions that are originally presented, which could change, as I hope I can for the better.
