They usually occur when I have neglected to stop them. I then realise that and so something about it.
They are my thoughts, so I have control over them!! There is not some insidious power controlling them, it is me and you.
I have worked out ways to distract myself. Occasionally, I have to find more ways.
Move about, read something, listen to music, go for a walk, do what ever you do to enjoy yourself.
If they come back during the activity, tell them to go away. They are your thoughts and you have power over them.
