What subtle things/ thoughts make you realise you’re getting old?

I got excited over a non-stick pan today, it’s over for me.

Posts by people less than half my age that say how old they feel. 🙃

They get over it oh so quickly.

Try to remember a time when you were very young and a day seemed like forever. Situations seemed so long in that moment. You couldn't wait for the moment to end.

Your perspective to a older person is very similar. A day becomes an eye blink. A week becomes like just yesterday. A month becomes a few days ago..

Events happen and it's all over before you know it even happened. 😞

@DeWayfarer This is directly related to those morning and afternoon naps I think.. or maybe it is the decreased memory capacity or the daily routine of things, but yea, as you get older the days fly by.

@JamesBugman has more to do with the rate of change cells changes at any given point of time in the life cycle.

You don't heal as quickly later in life either. Your whole bodies cells rate growth slows down. You loose hair even the older you get.

Everything is slower the older anyone is.

Look how quickly a baby grows. It's growing in overtime even as it sleeps. Even faster as a fetus in the womb.

In nine months a fetus grows from two cells weighing 2 nanograms to an average weight of 6 pounds. Some smaller some bigger. Yet the growth rate varies in every fetus.

Pure speculation yet I suspect you could determine anyones natural life expectancy just by the various rates of change, if they actually would keep records on that from a fetus to adulthood.

It wasn't possible until the latest scanning imagery machines.

Now they can even see the internal organs of a fetus as it grows in the womb. From a week after conception onwards.
