everyone thinks the danger lies in the potential hazards that can befall a single woman walking to her car at night

what they don't tell you is that the TRUE violence is heading home to a place where there is no one to worry about whether or not you got there safely

@Haniazed welcome to my world 😪
@foldedunfolding Aww…I wanna give you a huge hug!🥺

Loneliness is a thing…

My longest stretch of being truly alone was only like a year and a half. But I have one coworker who is my age and single, never been married, no kids and immediate family are all out of town. Super nice and friendly guy. A funny guy too. Probably as recent as 5 years ago, he was actively getting himself “out there”, dating, socializing. But that eventually slowed and he’s become more intro. He’s not quite reclusive yet…like he enjoys hosting friends for dinner and stuff but he now values his own time a lot more, doing stuff like gardening or cooking or making furniture. He seems at peace with the fact that he is alone but there’s always a hint of sadness and loneliness. And at this point, I don’t think he’ll find anyone.

I always think if I never made a family of my own, I probably would have turned out exactly like him.

Sorry for this random thought…but your post made me think of him
