I find it sad that you think no one cares here. I feel certain that there are people who do, and I know I do.
You could make the same point that no one truly knows the other in any situation, online or off, and we base what we think of them depending on things they say and do.
It is real life if you are spending your real life time here. Of course it’s not the same as being in front of someone. But you are talking with a person who exists. A person that can be genuine, or a person that can be deceitful and manipulative. But I’ve met deceitful people in person too. I’ve met people living fantasy lives in person too.

I have to disagree. Thanks to SW, and also EP, I have found an amazing support system and and handful of friends…a few who have spilled into my real life.

It isn’t about the number of views or what is posted. It’s about interacting and showing a bit of empathy, offering a helping hand, showing a bit of kindness. Sure there are many who are here for the hate. But, like anything else, there are so many more just wanting to be heard and found for the person they are.

In actuality, it is JUST like the real world. The only small difference is that peoples’ honesty shines through a bit more.

What if, when we individually log in to SW, all of these profiles were created strictly by a software program for the user? In other words, nothing is real which means I’m not real but was created by software to interact with you. Hmmmm ??

Some people here actually do care. Some of us have been active members of this community predating SW and have been supportive friends for 10-15 years; yes YEARS.

Many of us we'll predate the app version, some of us still access via a web browser and will never use the app.

While yes, some of us are weird and some are simply intolerable.

I think some of us know each other perhaps better than friends and family IRL. For some of us this IS RL, and relationships cross over into territory that isn't any less real than with anyone you may engage with in person. Some of us DO meet in person, and the lines of online vs IRL get blurred.

Be careful not to invalidate someone else's very real experience and the emotions they are going through.

It's entirely what you make of it, I have close friends and met up with one. So this is just sweeping statement which isn't accurate

And it's sad that I can see multiple people in the comments whinging about what you're saying here, despite the fact that all you're doing is sharing your thoughts, which is what this site is for. And you're not wrong about what you said, nor is it hurtful or hateful towards anyone either. So I don't understand why anyone is even slightly bothered by it.
It's great to see you not letting them stop you.

Sometimes, the anonymity here offers an opportunity to be more open and honest than with the people we know "in real life "

In some cases, that makes people meaner.

But in other cases, it leads to real connection with others .

And in yet other cases, the whole thing is just light-hearted fun .

I have no doubt that there are people here, who've gotten to know each other beyond what you're claiming as "truth". Maybe you haven't, and do not really care, but that is your "truth"...only.

In rare cases,SW friends do turn into real life for some..

Many of us actually do care, we have known each other since the days of EP and have become an online family of sorts.
