what does it mean when a man only dates and messes with women that are in his age group or older?

I am that man btw.

I'm 35 years old and for some odd reason all of my life I was never attracted to younger women. today I only date women who are either my age, older or no more than 7 years younger than me. I never understood why but younger women just turn me off for some reason. most of them appear so dramatic, unrealistic, overemotional and most of all CLINGY to me.

but a lot times I just feel weird cause I got a lot of male friends and relatives who are the total opposite of me. in fact some of them are currently in their 40s and they still hit clubs and other lives venues hoping to find women in their late 20s to leave and smooch with..

of course back in my native country is a lot worst. I'm originally from the Dominican Republic and down there you see a lot of men in their 40s bringing 15 year old bimbos and boy does this question make me question the world we live in. it also seems like these same young bimbos dont mind being with these old farts. I seen a lot that have even gone as far as fighting their own mothers and running alway from home just to be with these same old fart.

till then am I the one who's in the wrong? a lot of my male friends and relatives that I mentioned above claim that this is all because I have "mommy's issues"

Simple - he is sick to death of very young and immature ladies and not ready to settle down as they prefer to party all the time

A older male has nothing in common with a lady that is 20- 30 years younger than he is, and she is after a sugar daddy

@nedkelly what about 60 year old men and younger women say 10 years younger?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@Justenjoyit That would be okay

Your a clever man not taken by ego or manipulation! Bring around someone close to your own age is all the wiser.
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
Its means your normal ha, i have always liked older guys and my hubby is 11 yrs older than me, for same sort of reasons younger seems to be more immature! Although i dont think men ever grow up 😏

Guys in 40s who want younger model are hitting the stage they need an ego boost and to make them feel young again. If anything i feel they are ones with issues they had there youth etc they are just trying to feeel fresh and young again.

I don't know if I'd date someone in their early 20s now, they wanna keep their "options" open. It's a weird un because it's harder to date as you get older and many let the opportunities slip them by.

The older we get the more complicated we become.

Each to their own though, generalisations are rarely concrete.

Happened to me too – I feel attracted to older men, which led to some "friends" claiming I have "daddy issues" 🙄
helenS · 36-40, F
@KakarotFrontier Maybe the "daddy issues" insult is just an expression of jealousy then?
KakarotFrontier · 36-40, M
@helenS women who love older men rarely get slapped with the "daddy's issues" stereotype.

women have been attracted to older men since the start of humanity
helenS · 36-40, F
@KakarotFrontier In my country, in a typical marriage, a husband is 7 years older than his wife.
Older women have savoir faire.
They know who they are and what they want.
Mutual pleasure is a goal. When I fly, you fly. Simple.
Why give a fuck what others think or do? You do you.

Young men love older women until they become old men who love younger women. A lot of you men (not all of course) are bastards that way 😁

7-years younger than you is younger. I don’t understand your question. You seem normal to me.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
It means nothing except he had personal preferences.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
I don't mean to sound mean but its ridiculous to think that you are " in the wrong". What you prefer is a personal preference and everyone has them.
I'm a female so not the best source of what men think but in general men are known for prefering really young women for...
Their youthful bodies, being able to command them a bit easier, they are more easily impressed, less baggage, lower to no body count, more moldable, better fertility if it comes to potential wife.
You have other priorities in regards to what you like and thats cool.

And there are definitely downsides to dating someone very young which you've already meantioned.

You aren't the only guy that I've met who feels the same as you do. My brother is 33 and he won't date any woman younger than like 28. I tried to encourage him to date younger because he keeps running into party girls with baggage ( I think hes unknowingly attracted to that type of woman) but he wants kids one day and doesn't want someone who already has kids.

Alot of guys that only love really young women mainly want easy sex and some of them couldn't pull that level women when they were younger and had less money and status.

Your just a normal person. Your influences seem to not fit your current culture. Thats not your fault. Dont let the judgment of others effect you. Be who you want to be.
I dont think your friends understand what 'mommy issues' really mean 😂

Perhaps it just means you like to date people your equal. And that you arent afraid of intellect or challenge .

Yes , its terribly standard issue for men to find young women and girls attractive ....its so standard its scary.
(Studies have been done)

Personally i question their capabilities as not only lovers, but intellectuals when they find such younger partners appealing ...besides body amd energy, what is there? No social culture commonalities, no experience to draw from, no wisdom to share. Its a very polarised dynamic of power. How does conversation keep going ?

Besides, why bend for others when its not their life, or their choice?
