I used to use the word woke in a defamatory way against someone.

Then I realize that makes me intellectually lazy, anyone can say anyone is woke without looking deeper into the subject matter. They just dismiss it when they don't really understand what's being said. It's days like this I'm glad "anti woke" people are around to make me feel smart. It's a reference for how not to be, so thank you anti intellectuals, for your sacrifice.
Woke simply means you care about other people in society.

@Ryderbike Pretty much. I noticed that I don't write anything bad, just basic human decency and they'll be like "you're woke," it's kind of stupid.
somewhere between sincerity and sarcasm..
but yeah
lets stop using buzzwords
I dislike their anything goes mentality.

@Underconstruction Me too. I've met some "free spirits" like that in real life and they always have the worse lives. Always living on the edge, filled with drama, in and out of jail most likely.. no rules to anything. They always end up in the most horrible places.

Though I must say, it's funny because it's "anything goes" unless it's against them then they turn into the people they criticize the most. They're hypocrites like that.

Using woke as an insult was always strange to me. The opposite of being woke is to be asleep.

Same for intellectual. I would think that is something to be proud of. The opposite is to be stupid.

And then Social Justice Warrior. Why is fighting for social justice a bad thing? We celebrate people who fight for worthy causes. Why isn't social justice considered worthy?

It is very strange for so many people to treat positive virtues as some kind of wicked flaw. To promote ignorance and unfairness as the domain of the average person and then claim it is a good thing for the average person to be as such.

@ViciDraco I've tried avoiding using this term loosely because it's overused and I only use it when I see patterns but the people who tend to be "anti woke" seem to have all the entitlements and willingness to exploit right out of the B cluster group of people.

Something about the way they can't understand people's viewpoints, their low empathy, willingness to manipulate the conversation, lack of any self reflection, pathological lying (you can catch a pathological liar even on the internet, I know of one on SW who you're probably familiar with,) victim hood mentality (conspiracy theories that promote victimhood/entitlement narratives,) us vs. them mentality, always seeing black and white.. never grey areas, their inability to be flexible but more rigid.

I mean I try to avoid calling them that unless I get tired of their games or annoyed with it enough to just say "look here b cluster" but that's how I personally see it. There's patterns to people's behavior, like minded people find like minded people and so fourth. The anti-woke crowd kind parallels that.

I could be wrong of course but from the pattern of what these people say and how they act badly at times, their low empathy for people speaks volumes.
I try not to use it. Its meaning has changed so rapidly that it went form good to bad , and now im not sure of its rammifications contextually😂
