What is it with conservatives and the taliban?

I've noticed a strange trend with conservatives lately on the far right end of the spectrum. I was watching a debate yesterday and it was about a range of topics. However, someone mentioned that the Taliban were tossing gay people off roofs and the conservatives in the group were telling that person that the Taliban only kills child molesters and they don't kill gay people but if they did, they're serial molesters. I've seen variations of far righters sticking up for the Taliban on a variety of subjects so I'm kind of wondering, WTF guys.

@SatanBurger I haven't noticed things like those present in the first two or that Fuentes guy but yeah, the others I get. MSNBC said it best, it's really just about a common enemy. A lot of these are essentially saying to the left, "Look, even the taliban gets it right." I don't see it as so much support as a two-pronged insult. They call them both backwards in doing so while driving the fork further into the left with the comparison.
