Well, we are writing down our ancestors already since generations. My great great grandfather was called Karl. I even know the name of my first documented ancestor (16x grandfather who was born in 1460 馃槈).
Well, I guess that in 4 generations maybe someone still will remember my name but not the thing which is more important: What I was for a kind of person.
But well, we humans are like that... 馃槈

@Vaper Well, no problem.
Nevertheless it doesn't help me at all that I know the names where I'm coming from. 馃槥
There live still several members of my family anywhere... I could have an exchange about our common ancestors. But I don't have contact to ANYBODY, it seems I am the Black Sheep of the family. I am feeling a little bit like a leaf on a dead branch... 馃槥
But however: Knowing about lineage is interesting, and also about the little stories I know to tell about a few of my ancestors. 馃檪

@Loretta78 I see.... I've a bit of experience being cast in black wool,myself.
Oddly perhaps I've a string of knowledge pertaining to names in my family tree as my heritage uses not a family name. Icelandic tradition is to adapt your fathers first name + son or daughter respectively as your last.
