What's the logical fallacy called, I can't think of it?

This is a bad example but to illustrate a point, let's say you're gay and you talk about a hate crime that happened to you, someone else comments and says "I got robbed by a gay person once, (something generalized like that) and I'm just saying that some are violent."

Then they hijack your post with talking about how some gay people are violent (as if that's a valid point) when the original story was talking about how you had a crime done to you.

They'll go on to say that they've witnessed bad behavior among people and they'll say things like "I'm just saying" and "you're hating on all straight people."

Then instead of the original point being made, they'll continually do it.

It's a bad example but it's to highlight a certain mentality that some people have that their minds can't focus on something specific but even the mere mention of the group will just bring up generalized notions so badly it takes from the original point.

I'm sure that's a fallacy but not really sure what it's called.

Lets say that you never mentioned that it was a personal hate crime against you ...and that you particilarly mentioned that it was about people who got phobic and hatefull about gay people.

It just might change how people percieve your words.

And might explain why the person said they got robbed by a gay person and how it affected them.

@OogieBoogie So here's what I'm saying, I make a post about anti trans women being threatened by trans females and you go on a tangent about how some trans women are mean to you.

Get it?

What abouts is the word I'm looking for.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie The hate crime was just an example of how someone can go off course, it wasn't related to what I wrote. Just an example. Like I wrote something and then someone else goes way off base with the whole thing, taking away from what was originally written to make them look like a victim.
@SatanBurger thats funny ...what a cowinky dink.

Someone came and did that on my post 😂
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie You wrote that post around the time you were talking to me. Don't be stupid.
@SatanBurger Again...read the post.

Read the replies.

It related to other users.
And people knew who i was talking about, as they had been on their posts as well.

The world doesnt revolve around you , not everything is about you.

And believe it or not ...you arent the centre of the SW universe 😏
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie Again you wrote that post about the same time you were talking to me so... you were just being underhanded because that's the type of person you are. I don't really think it's a coincidence that you wrote that post around the same time you were arguing with me. Your whole "my post was about three other people instead" I just don't believe you.
@SatanBurger hey ...if you want to think that...go ahead .

Im kinda over your obsession with compulsive self victimisation .

I could spend ages trying to show you ....you could even go look at the post and see it isnt about you , AT ALL, but a person has to choose to see the proof , to see thr truth ,or they can deny it.

Its all up to you .

This is day three ....and you are still hooked on this .

Move on dude.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie There was no other victim sh-t than what I seen of your comments on my original post. You don't get to play innocent on that one for sure but keep being underhanded, it's hardwired into you for some reason.
@SatanBurger thow all the abuse and accusations at that you want .....its all good .

I know what i say, who i am.
And your obsessiveness with namecalling, and blame shaming , days later ....is your choice.

Good luck with that.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie Okay you're playing the victim, whatever makes you feel better but you started this with me so just remember that.
@SatanBurger im not the one thinking its all about them, thinking they are secretly being spoken about, and making posts trying to get sympathy and support.

You do you honey .
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie This wasn't a sympathy post, I am literally wondering what the logical fallacy is but it's been answered very well so far. Every time someone brings up a minority group or a specialized issue going on with a small group of people that only affects them, someone else comes on and takes it into a whole other direction. But I got my answer so yeah.
@SatanBurger yep...im sure you did .

Im sure a.personal hate crime is equivalent to an "anti-whatever" group theology.😏

You go girl😜👍
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie It was just an example, there's so many others to use but I don't expect you to be honest about anything anymore. Like I said, I already got the fallacy which was faulty generalization.
@SatanBurger hey , if you think they are equivalent, thats your persective .
Im sure being beaten/stabbed or death threats deliver the same trauma as bigoted views from an extremist minority online .
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@OogieBoogie What the fvck are you on about? That's exactly what I'm talking about. My original post that I am talking about was talking about the recent far right movement by far right women who said that trans women don't make them feel like women anymore, I said those types of women are weak.

And you went on a whole rant about how "some" trans women were mean to you once. Now you're on something about being stabbed or death threats?

Jesus Christ, that's the most daft thing I've ever heard.
@SatanBurger geez ...you really cant let this go can you ?

As much as id live to think i seem to have had a huge imact on you in the last few days .
I think im going to have to be the 'big girl' here, and just walk away .

You need it .

This isnt healthy, mentally , or emotinally ....its obsessional.

So, if you can't let go of this ...i will.

Have a good day.

@SatanBurger I'm just glad to see that my fallacy proposal won out 🥰
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@BlueVeins Haha it did indeed.
