Many reasons... For some it's insecurity and a need for validation, for others it's narcissistic, for some it's just plain fun and taking the Micky out of themselves and then there are those to whom it's just a picture I thought you might like..

Every girl, or even guy for that matter, on some level, craves the feedback. Looking for confirmation, or affirmation that they are attractive.. We are all our own worst critics. So when we hear others tell us we look nice, it feels good and boosts confidence.

External validation? Instagram is filled with women that seemingly spend their time posting pics of themselves. I think it's an addiction.

Probably the same reason the rest of us do. To seek positive attention and validation we are looking for.

People like to be looked at, acknowledged, appreciated, simply to be noticed. It seems part of human nature. Might as well ask why someone brushes or combs their hair or dresses in clean clothes or wears makeup or whatever.

Some like the attention they receive and like to be admired others I think it's peer pressure like all the selfish worse still all the filters lol

Probably pretty much for the same reasons they wear make-up, show decolletage, wear short skirts, etc., etc. -- to took attractive and to get positive feedback and attention.

It's a free world if they enjoy doing it then let them do it. Clothed, scantily clad or nude makes no difference.

I really don’t think about it. It’s their prerogative. Hopefully they feel good about their choices and aren’t doing it because they feel any pressure.

They do it for the rush. Most semi-nude pics are pretty innocuous anyway, so if it makes you feel good, post it. If it’s not your thing, that’s ok too.

Validation, attention seeking, insecurity and self indulged people. If you don’t get it in real life, you’ll get it on the internet.
