Unless the two therapists working on you have been working together for a while, this can be of very questionable benefit. As an MT, I have both received and given four-hand work. When I taught, there were 16 in a class, and only one student was really capable of doing four-hand work. MTs need to be aware of what the other is doing and work- either complementarily or in synchronicity- with the other. Practice makes perfect, but some are just not capable of either.

I would say it depends on how synchronized your therapists are as to how much you get out of it. The idea should be that you get a much deeper level of relaxation because your brain struggles to interpret the sensory input of both sides being worked on simultaneously so you are forced to totally let go. I guess the only way of knowing is to try it for yourself.

One girl distracts the other. The client ends up paying for the two to have a giggle.

@alan20 You night like the giggles, but that is not the "real" way to do it. They should either mirror each other, or be doing two completely different techniques in different areas. This helps confuse the nervous system, and tricks it into "giving up" and finally relaxing.
