This is my 30th year. Yes, I consider myself a good therapist- I've had a lot of practice. Over 1100 hours of formal training over 30 years, (only needed 500 to get my license). Was one of the founding therapists of a new location of a "5-star spa" in the northern midwest. Now a sole practitioner. Had two locations for 8 years. Dropped the second a few years ago to focus on the location closer to home. (Anyone need a ready to go studio outfit??). I also provide training (by the session) or a combo of training/consultation (subscription-type basis).

@Shadyglow Not being nosy - you have to know what you might be getting into- - - - -Training was $8,000 at the time. Massage Table $600, Portable Massage Chair $500, add another grand or so for microwave/hot cabby, cabinets, rolling chair (for me), guest chair, linens, initial inventory of oils/lotions/disinfectants, etc. I didn't add the Massage Chair, though, until year 3. The IRS needs you to have "3 out of 5" years of profitability to prove it's a business. The first year I took a loss (equipment cost), second year a gain (because I didn't buy hardly a darn thing), third year a loss (more equipment), and a profit every year since then. I'm in year 31 right now.
