I suppose it has been a habit started by mom and grandma decades ago. I do look before flushing away the results. I will then repeat as necessary.

@sse4fun I'm surprised at the question - isn't it the norm? After every bowel movement, whether it was facilitated or not, the dooer or their "nurse" should examine the doohs. Btw in this household there have definitely been instances of more than one (even more than two) suppository-administrations in a day.

@SuziSatan02 Yes, I believe it is the "norm". It certainly was as I was growing up and also after getting an enema in the hospital. I suppose that some telltale odors or sounds could be a bit of confirmation, although it seemed that a 2nd enema was likely to occur anyway.
