If you go to therapy, do you do most of the talking?

Or does your therapist?

Or is it pretty equal?

I do most of the talking. I do have many issue s that are typically on my mind. It's just that even when I leave pauses in between certain issues, my therapist mainly nods. She does add 'some' useful tips towards the end, but I am doing like 30 mins. of the talking, and I really need more feedback. I do leave pauses sometimes, and she still mainly nods or agrees, but I guess I will have to ASK, 'What should I DO about this?' or 'What are some ways to CHANGE my thinking on this?' I thought they would volunteer that info, but most don't, and if they do it is just maybe one line. :(

With my current therapist I think it’s about even, but it varies depending on how I’m feeling. Some days I’m being drug along and other days I have a lot to say. sometimes she’ll prompt me or just let me sit in silence. If it’s something we’re working on like making plans, she does a lot of the talking, but I think that’s because I get stuck

@itsok I wonder sometimes if I should just let like a MINuTE go by w/out talking. That would be a long time for me... and I've let several seconds go, but she doesn't typically add anything to the issue. Mainly nods. I guess I will need to ask her ?? I did once, not talk for like 20 seconds probably... and it was awkward, she didn't add what I should do about the issue, or a new way to think about it. I really need some Help changing my mind, which is a fear based/trauma mind. I guess I will ask specific, 'How can I go about this?' type questions. Yours sounds def helpful. :) I do like mine, I just need more input for sure.
