What percentage of Americans would you say are in therapy?

Too many are in the wrong kind of therapy. Revisiting past traumas doesn't do anything but keep bad feelings alive and make you falsely believe that you are bound by your past. This is a lie.
The only true path forward is to focus on the here and now, and set goals going forward. Many therapists don't do that, though. Then it simply becomes a never-ending cash cow for the therapists.

@travelguy01 You're on the money with that. In a lot of ways that industry is the Wild West and there's definitely therapists, psychologists and even psychiatrists who don't work towards what should be the goal which is not having someone come back. They indulge clients. Not all are like that of course. But it's not uncommon.
