Hot As Hell

I have a mini heater I stick under my bed covers and when I first turn it on it's like heaven on earth so toasty and warm. After 5 minutes it's like hell.I have to keep switching it on and off.the automatic heated wrap only gets my feet. The mini heater warms everything underneath.

@TexChik During the winter I would often wake up with frost on my blankets. My room was cold as was the rest of the house. I learned to get dressed under the covers before getting up to fill the coal stoker. No we didn't have electric blankets and no I wouldn't want one either.

Many years ago I used an electric blanket over the mattress, not on top of me. I only used it to warm up before I got in then turned it off. If you accidentally leave it on it's awful - bad dreams and you wake up sweating. Never worried about it being dangerous, I just stopped liking the feeling.

Now I prefer cool sheets and on cold nights I use an old fashioned hot water bottle, mainly for my feet. Easy to push it out when you had enough.
