Big TV or little TV? Connected to the Interwebs or not?
I currently have a 55 inch Samsung smart TV bought when I bought my house in 2023. I'm about to replace it with a smaller 43 inch unit as I feel the bigger unit no longer suits.
I've never enabled the wi-fi to link it to the Interwebs as I don't trust it and don't want to open it up to potential remote actor interference.
Are you a large TV or small TV person? I'll define 'large' to be 50 inch or bigger.
Do you have your TV fully linked to the Internet, smart apps, etc. or keep it clean and pristine with only a TV antenna (where possible to get broadcast TV) and external media players like a DVD and/or blu-ray unit?
I have an external DVD unit which does not have HDMI so I have it linked to the TV via a cheapo RGB to HDMI converter.
I do not download movies, or have Netflix or anything like that. I don't have any pay TV service like Foxtel.
99 pct of the time the TV is off, and reason I don't want it linked to the Internet is that even when in standby mode it could be actively watching/listening like any other smart speaker/camera does, or a remote actor could make it do that without my knowledge.
My PC has no camera or mic and that's how I like it.
