Anyone using a Smartwatch ?

I know i know grumpy ol' geezer back with his daft questions 🥱

My Son sent me a Smartwatch.
ANDFZ ?....Couldn't use it because i needed a more 'updated phone'......🫣

So i went out and got one ! 😜

Figured out my phone......kinda. Went and had a look at this watch thang and it's currently on it's 'initial two-hour start-up charge'.....🤷

Here's irony for you kids ! If it works successfully.....i needn't have bothered getting a 🤬🤬new phone ! Anyhoo, just wondered if anybody else had got one and whether they're 'beneficial' to you or whether to just smile, say "That's nice !"....and slip it silently into 'that draw' ?
You know. The one containing all that 'That'll come in handy someday !' stuff.

What is the brand on the watch? Some are really not user friendly.

I have an Amazfit GTS and I LOVE it.
I use it like a regular watch mainly. I have picked an interface that shows me both digital and analog time.

But I also love to take time with it like when I'm cooking something, and sleep alarm. It vibrates silently but enough to wake me.

When I exercise it works great for tracking my progress too.

When I activate Bluetooth on my phone I also have a weather notification showing on my watch.

@Picklebobble2 OK. So it's first of all from amazon. It costs around $35 and several customers said it stopped working for no reason after a while.

It's a cheap brand so I expect the layout of the watch soft ware to be a bit tricky too.

@Picklebobble2 If your son loves you he won't expect you to wanna use that one 😂

@Queendragonfly 🤔⌚ 📈📈❗😳💥😱👻
I'm not a whole lot younger than you. I have a smartish watch. I like it for just being a watch, for keeping track of steps. There are some things I can imagine them being useful for, but don't use that way, weather apps, controlling music on the phone as a remote, being able to read texts without getting out your phone, but most of that is a solution in desperate search of a problem to fix in my estimation

@stound In these modern times where every company you have an app with wants access to every key stroke you make, i'm not sure of it's value either.

Like you say, this is a 'solution to a problem that doesn't exist'. But it makes me wonder where all this name; e-mail; phone number; call log; weight; steps walked; calories burned; calls made; .....etc. goes once you sign up to this stuff.
@Picklebobble2 out for someone to buy, I'm sure.

I got a very cheap one about a year ago just to see if it might be helpful. I've never looked back since. Heart rate monitoring and sleep monitoring are what I really use it for, not nonsense notifications or calls/messages.

Nope. My analog watch is still working fine.
