Anyone using a Smartwatch ?

I know i know grumpy ol' geezer back with his daft questions 馃ケ

My Son sent me a Smartwatch.
ANDFZ ?....Couldn't use it because i needed a more 'updated phone'......馃

So i went out and got one ! 馃槣

Figured out my phone......kinda. Went and had a look at this watch thang and it's currently on it's 'initial two-hour start-up charge'.....馃し

Here's irony for you kids ! If it works successfully.....i needn't have bothered getting a 馃が馃がnew phone ! Anyhoo, just wondered if anybody else had got one and whether they're 'beneficial' to you or whether to just smile, say "That's nice !"....and slip it silently into 'that draw' ?
You know. The one containing all that 'That'll come in handy someday !' stuff.

I'm not a whole lot younger than you. I have a smartish watch. I like it for just being a watch, for keeping track of steps. There are some things I can imagine them being useful for, but don't use that way, weather apps, controlling music on the phone as a remote, being able to read texts without getting out your phone, but most of that is a solution in desperate search of a problem to fix in my estimation

@stound In these modern times where every company you have an app with wants access to every key stroke you make, i'm not sure of it's value either.

Like you say, this is a 'solution to a problem that doesn't exist'. But it makes me wonder where all this name; e-mail; phone number; call log; weight; steps walked; calories burned; calls made; .....etc. goes once you sign up to this stuff.
@Picklebobble2 out for someone to buy, I'm sure.
